02/21/2011 - Cphera 0.2

Over the past few months, a few interesting things have happened to Legends of Cphera. We finally got some playtesters, who showed us that some of our rules were complete nonsense; we had a chance to step back and approach the design again, which showed us that even more of our rules were complete nonsense; and I had a chance to brainstorm around a brand new role-playing ruleset, which was mostly complete nonsense.

With this new knowledge in hand, we were able to confidently say that Cphera needed a facelift. So for the past few weeks and over the course of the coming months, Cphera has been and will be changing. These changes include:

  • A unique 8-Ability core stat system.
  • A brand new, three-tier advancement system and the elimination of classes.
  • A completely revamped Magic System, designed for supreme flexibility and ease-of-use.
  • A multitude of rule changes and tweaks to reflect the changes to the core system and the input of playtesters.

These changes are all centered around making Cphera an extremely friendly, deep, and unique table-top gaming experience. As development of the game continues, new content will be added and old content will be tweaked and refined.
