Dice Used

Legends of Cphera uses the standard d20 set of dice. Of those, the most commonly used dice is the twenty-sided die, or the "d20." This die is used for nearly every function within the game. The other dice are used less, generally used in combat for damage values.

Dice Nomenclature

The way dice rolls are written down can sometimes be confusing. Legends of Cphera uses standard polyhedron dice rolling nomenclature, in the format of xdy + z. In this format, "x" is the number of dice you roll, "y" is the number of sides those dice should have, and "z" is the number that gets added to the total of the dice roll.

For example, if a weapon's damage tells a player to roll "2d6 + 7," that means that the player should roll two six-sided dice and add seven to the resulting sum. Or, if the weapon's damage is 4d8 + 2, the player should roll four eight-sided dice and add two to the result.

Dice nomenclature often comes in longer forms. In a more complicated example, if a damage roll calls for 2d8 + 4d6 +8, the player will roll two eight-sided dice, four six-sided dice, and add eight to the total sum.
