Skill List

General Skill — Agility

Sleight of Hand covers actions concerning the quick and skillful manipulation of small objects with a character's fingers.

Specific Uses

Concealment

A character can use Sleight of Hand to conceal objects on his body. This check is opposed by opponents' Awareness checks.

Situation Check Mod
Wearing bulky or baggy clothing +4
Using a scabbard or similar item specifically designed to be concealed +4
Object is larger than a dagger -5
Object is the size of a coin +2

Pick-Pocketing

This action is used to lift an object from another character. The default DC to succeed the attempt is 25, but the check is also opposed by the target's Awareness check. If the target succeeds, he notices the pick-pocket, whether he got the object or not.

The DC of the check is subject to the following modifiers:

Situation DC Mod
Object is the size of a coin or smaller -2
Object is larger than a dagger +4
Target is in a busy crowd -2

Prestidigitation

This action is used for a variety of purposes. The DC for those purposes is noted below.

Action DC
Palm an object Opposed Awareness check
Situation Check Modifier
Object is dagger-sized -2

Palm an Object — In order to palm an object, thereby making it disappear, the object must be able to fit in the palm of a hand.

Skill Tiers

This skill starts at Tier Zero. The upgrade cost of skill tiers is 2 + (Current Skill Tier x2) Upgrade Points.

Tier One

A character with Tier One Sleight of Hand can make a Sleight of Hand check to conceal an object that his has just palmed while still being observed. Otherwise, a character cannot successfully conceal an object while observed.

Tier Two

A character with Tier Two Sleight of Hand can use his abilities in combat.

If the character has successfully palmed an object, he can make an additional Sleight of Hand (Prestidigitation) check (DC: 25 and opposed by defender's Awareness check) as part of an Attack. If the Slight of Hand check is successful, the character catches his opponent Flat-footed for that attack. This can only be performed once per opponent per encounter.

Tier Three

A character with Tier Three Sleight of Hand can use Sleight of Hand to lift and manipulate objects up to the size of a short sword.
