06/14/2010 - Pushing Forward

Since my last post, a lot of progress has been made on the game. Classes are 95% complete (The Tough class needs his Power tree filled out), Feats and Equipment are well into development, and the groundwork for Tracks has been laid down. The last section of core rules that needs to be written is Magic, and that should be done over the next several days.

At the same time, work has begun on the creation of Cphera itself. We're starting with a map, and from there we're going to develop the world from the ground up, starting with the distribution of resources and moving through to creating a detailed political history of the entire world. With this fabric of history and culture laid out, more Tracks tied to various cultures, organizations, and religions will arise naturally.

We are also beginning to test the core combat mechanics for initial balancing and troubleshooting. Once these core elements are tested, we will move onto testing progression mechanics and balancing through a mini campaign. These tests will be occurring concurrently with world development, and should be able to start as soon as the magic system is finished.

All told, Legends of Cphera is perfectly on track for its Beta debut in late August. We're looking forward to the continuation of the project.
