The Odachi is the largest sword in existence, and probably the largest sword possible. Meaning (roughly) "Big Big Sword" and weighing in at a blade length of three meters long, this weapon is simply enormous.

The Odachi has Reach of 10 feet. Unlike most reach weapons, it can strike adjacent opponents as well.

When held, this weapon has an Armor Penalty of -2, reduced to -1 when sheathed. This makes it quite effective on horseback, where these penalties mean much less.

It takes 4 AP to draw or sheathe an Odachi, regardless of whether you have the Quick Draw feat.

You must have at least a strength of 6 to use this weapon, and you must wield it two-handed. Users without this strength take a -4 to attack and damage, and an additional -2 of Armor Penalty. Attacking without a strength of at least 6 deals 1d4 points of Sublethal Damage, bypassing Endurance, as you tire yourself out. Attempts to wield it one-handed automatically fail.

If you are non-proficient with the Odachi you gain only a +1 to AC instead of the normal +3.

Historically an Odachi would be anywhere from four to twelve feet long - this particular entry covers the exceptional ones, 8-12 feet. Smaller blades are effectively covered by other sword entries.
