The Pilum (plural pila) is a special type of heavy Javelin, with a special metal head.
When wounded by a thrown pilum, a character must make a reflex save (DC 20) or have it twist and be stuck in him. This imposes a -2 Armor Penalty and deals 1 damage for every AP spent until a DC 25 or better Heal (First Aid) check is performed to remove it.
