At this point the craft check is to see whether or not you know the techniques for making the object (dying techniques, paper quality, etc.), because you know it so well the other details can't be left out.

I may overhaul parts of this... I'm not sure it's good to let them grant others this power so early on.

At the same time, I don't think that power should be held off to tier 5, or be so expensive. I think one of the defining features of Discipline magic should be that any constant effect can be given to another person.

Really? I think it's clearly easier to give it to yourself though. Go ahead and cheapen it and move it down to whatever tier you think is appropriate.

Is that necessary? The spell already allows for the caster to not need the original for such checks. Or are you thinking that using this spell is in fact easier than having to constantly compare between two objects? 'Cause I can get on board with that second one.
