A character's Capacity is essentially his spiritual bandwidth. It limits how much power can be channelled at any given time.

By default, a character's Capacity is equal to his Charisma.

When casting a spell or invoking a power that exceeds the available Capacity:

  • Any constant effect spells are cancelled first, starting with the one with the smallest draw. The character is dealt Sublethal Damage equal to half the Capacity draw of the cancelled spells, bypassing the normal DR for sublethal damage.
  • If the cost of the spell exceeds the total Capacity of the character, the Ability behind the Capacity is damaged for the difference between the spell's cost and the total Capacity. The character also receives normal Combat Damage at the same amount.
